The Comedy Series Brassic Calls it a Day with Tarantino-Inspired Last Episode
The creators Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are bringing the curtain down on their comedy series about a tight-knit bunch of likable chancers causing chaos in a rural Lancashire town. You might expect the last episode to be a nostalgic highlight reel of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. But, the atmosphere turns much more somber as the character Vinnie, played by Gilgun and the gang hole up in a pub with criminal figure Davey MacDonagh for a final 50th installment apparently inspired by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.
The Show Dragons' Den
8pm, BBC One
Dancers from the ballet world enter the den this week, as mothers Laura and Stacey pitch their range of inclusive dancewear – and send Peter Jones into a spin. Then, an ophthalmologist turned innovator has a smart device for lost tape ends.
All Creatures Great and Small
9pm, Channel 5
The animal-related escapades are generally good, but this excellent historical series earns its corn with tender character work. A particularly affecting episode weaves the stories of a lame shire horse and a missing young cow into a deeper plotline focusing on Tristan, whose actions lead to a brotherly confrontation.
The Drama The Hack
9pm on ITV1
It’s been a long road. Yet the penultimate episode of this at first slow-moving but ultimately compelling phone-hacking drama sees Nick, portrayed by David Tennant discovering details about the News of the World’s conduct that the rest of the media simply are forced to acknowledge. The situation improves for the character Dave, who has a unexpected new supporter.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
9pm on BBC Three
Jazz hands at the ready: it’s time to stage Peter Pansy – The Rusical! That means the stress increases for the drag performers to perform vocally, dance, and act and finally impress as they get ready for the show. And who better to guest judge than West End stage legend Mazz Murray, together with Graham Norton, Michelle Visage and RuPaul.
The Iris Affair
9pm, Sky Atlantic
Those with a phobia of creepy crawlies will want to skip ahead as episode six begins, before a tense standoff, reminiscent of a Mexican or Sardinian scenario occurs, when Cameron forces Iris to exchange her journal for the captured Joy – else she’ll be “riddled with bullets” from Meski’s menacing drone … How to get out of this one?
