The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.
Best-selling children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.
He has published over four dozen titles in total, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
