A Significant Comeback for the Franchise
The duo are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. It is believed their cameos will likely occur in a future-set scene, as the main film series concluded with their characters settled into family life.

Delving Into the Prequel
Sunrise on the Reaping draws its story from a newly published work by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.
A New Era in Panem
The film's story are set roughly two decades prior to the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.
The cast also includes several notable actors in important characters:
- Jesse Plemons steps into the role of Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a earlier incarnation of the menacing President Snow.
