British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
